Clare Immigrant Support Centre Admits ‘Disappointment’ At Government Response To Ukraine

The Co-Ordinator of the Clare Immigrant Support Centre says she’s ‘disappointed’ at the State’s response to assisting those who are facilitating Ukrainian refugees.

More than 1 in 10 of those fleeing the conflict are being accommodated in this county, with over 3,000 Ukrainians now estimated to be in county Clare.

A number of Government Ministers have visited the North of the county to assess the response, though volunteer organisations here believe not enough has been done to assist them meet refugees’ needs in the last number of months.

Orla Ní Eili says further demands may be put on an already creaking system over the next number of months.
