Clare Illegal Dumping Complaints Rise In First Half Of 2025

The number of complaints made about illegal dumping in Clare has risen in the first half of 2025.

New data from Clare County Council shows almost 400 separate complaints have been lodged in the opening six months of the year.

The local authority has received a total of 493 complaints pertaining to waste enforcement matters since January 1st.

Of these, 58 are about litter, 23 are in relation to dog fouling, seven concern waste presentation, 12 are in connection with green waste and a staggering 393 deal with illegal dumping.

This means litter complaints are up 7% on the 54 recorded in the first half of 2024, while illegal dumping complaints have risen by 4% from the 377 made between up to the end of June last year.

A total of 49 litter fines have been issued by Clare County Council so far this year meanwhile.
