Clare IFA Concerned Fodder Crisis Is Imminent If Government Doesn’t Take Action

Concern is being expressed that Clare farmers will face into another major fodder crisis if the government doesn’t take swift action to assist them.

Adverse weather conditions in recent months have meant cattle have had to be housed much earlier than usual, meaning farmers are working through their winter feed stock.

In the winter of 2012/2013, farmers were forced to queue for hours at Clare marts to snap up a limited supply of feed to get them through the winter.
