Clare House Prices Fell By Over €40,000 In June

The average price paid to purchase a house in Clare fell by over €40,000 in June.

The latest Residential Property Price Index shows only Ennis’ housing prices went up during the month.

A total of 44 homes went under the hammer here in June, according to the CSO, with the average selling price coming in at just over €235,400, down 15% on May’s figure.

32 homes were sold in Ennis, with 11 going to first time buyers and in the county town, the mean price of a home was €318,625, a monthly rise of €20,000.

In the Kilrush eircode area, just six homes were sold in June and for the eighth month in a row, all transactions involved second hand properties.

The average price of a home in West Clare was €191,000 during this timeframe, down over €68,000 on the previous month.

In the Shannon eircode area meanwhile, there were also just six homes sold, one being a new property.

There was also a dramatic price reduction in the South-East of the county, with the average transaction falling by 27% from May to June to just over €196,000.
