Clare was the hottest county in Ireland last month.
Met Eireann has revealed that the highest temperature in March was recorded at Shannon Airport on the 10th of the month.

However, at just under 14 degrees, it is still the lowest maximum temperature recorded at Shannon in March in a decade, a statistic that is perhaps unsurprising given the high levels of snowfall, particularly at the beginning of the month.
Despite this, there was more sunshine and less rainfall than would typically be the case here.
