Clare homeowners set to learn rate of local property tax

Clare homeowners will learn their rate of local property tax at the end of this month.

A meeting has been called for September 28th at which local representatives will determine whether they will vary the amount charged to homeowners.

Due to the level of property tax income here, Clare County Council has the option to reduce the charge by up to 15%.

Councillors opted to implement this full cut for 2015 despite warnings that it would lead to a shortfall in paying for local services.
