Homeless support services in Clare say increased access to social housing is urgently needed to tackle the scale of the problem in this county.
It follows a new Oireachtas report which has made 14 recommendations on combating long-term homelessness, including the re-introduction of an emergency ban on no-fault evictions and a dedicated child homeless strategy.

According to the local authority, there are now 204 people in this county living in emergency accommodation, while 2,763 households are waiting for social housing.
