A Clare homeless service provider is calling for female dedicated emergency supports where women feel safe.

The most recent figures from the Department of Housing show more than 40% of people accessing emergency accommodation in 2023 were women.

Meanwhile, Single Homeless Project research also indicates that women are more likely to be hidden homeless due to the traditionally male dominated environment within services.
