Clare Home Shows Extremely High Of Radon Levels

A home in Clare registered radon levels that were 18 times above the recommended rate.

The Environmental Protection Agency is encouraging households across the county to test their homes for the gas which can lead to serious health issues.

Two public meetings are being held in Clare this week in the Civic Room at the Buttermarket in Ennis this lunchtime and in Shannon tomorrow from 1pm at the Oakwood Arms Hotel.

Testing shows that homes in Ennis, Clarecastle, Lisdoonvarna, Corofin and Ballyvaughan are at risk of having high levels of radon.
