The founder of Clare Haven insists it’s vital to address the root causes of why women stay on violent relationships.

The voluntary charity operates services including a refuge and a 24-hour confidential helpline for women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse

Mary Fitzgerald established the organisation 25 years ago and was named as the Christine Buckley Volunteer of the Year last weekend, while she’s up for a Charity Impact Award tonight.
