The Clare-based President of the Irish Road Hauliers Association claims the impact of reintroducing excise duty on fuel must be monitored intently by government.
From midnight, the second of three phases in the planned reintroduction of the duty will come into effect, resulting in prices at the pump rising by 5 cent for petrol and 7 cent for diesel respectively, with the final hike due in October.
