A prominent Clare haulier claims motorists are being ripped off to the hilt with toll charges.
It follows revelations that the special purpose company running the Limerick Tunnel made over €11.9m in profits last year after toll charges were hiked by 20c for private cars for inflation.

The road is not due to be handed back to the fully public ownership of Transport Infrastructure Ireland until 2041.
Managing Director of Spa Transport and former Irish Road Haulier’s President Eugene Drennan believes charges should be capped immediately and then eliminated when it’s paid off.
