A Clare guidance counsellor is urging students to weigh up all options ahead of the first round of CAO offers.
Around 1,600 Leaving Cert students in Clare will receive their first offer for college places at 2pm this afternoon.

Students are encouraged to carefully analyse the offer received, with options to defer acceptance to the next college year if they’re undecided on whether or not to accept.
Manager of Careerfocus in Ennis, Mary Tyrell, says if students opt to take a year away from college, they should not waste it.
