Clare’s Green Senator has renewed calls for a referendum to be held on the public ownership of water.
Various groups have called for a vote to be held for a number of years amid fears that Irish Water could, in theory, be privitisied in the long term.

Plans on asking the public on whether to add text to article 28 of the constitution were shelved back in 2019.
