Clare’s Green Councillor believes continued high overcrowding numbers at the region’s main hospital are causing a ‘lack of dignity’ to patients.
100 people were waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick yesterday morning according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, which is the second highest number since records began.

That number has dropped to 67 today, which is still the highest number of any facility nationwide.
Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Lahinch-based Green Councillor Liam Grant, who’s a member of the Regional Health Forum West, believes high overcrowding is particularly impacting elderly patients.
