Clare GP Warns People Not To Avoid Medical Treatment To Cut Back On Spending

A prominent Clare GP is warning patients with long-term conditions not to avoid medical treatment as a means to cut back on spending.

The latest survey from Barnardos has found one in six people have cut back or missed medical appointments or medicines, due to the rising cost of living.

Ennis GP Dr. Maire Finn recalls people who were just over the threshold for the medical card making difficult decisions to cut back after the last recession which she says is now having a bigger impact on their health.
