A Clare doctor claims she’s highly concerned with the ‘trendiness’ of vaping that’s resulting in teenagers who have never smoked picking up the habit.
The new Healthy Ireland Survey indicates 20% of young people vape every day, while half of vape users between the age of 15 and 24 use disposable vapes.
It comes after a tax on e-liquid was introduced last week increasing the price of reusable products, while Chief Medical Officer, Mary Horgan, has announced that measures to curtail young people vaping will be introduced.
Local GP, Dr. Christina McDonnell, says this needs to be done urgently given the vast number of health impacts associated with long term vaping.
