Clare GP fearful of consequences of cutbacks in out of hours services

Lack of investment in general practise has led to cuts in out-of-hours services in Co. Clare.

It's one of a number of concerns raised by the National Association of General Practicioners in it pre-budget submission.

Shannon-based GP Dr Yvonne Williams says increased workload and a lack of resources also mean GPs are spending less time in consultations with what she believes are worrying consequences for patients.

Dr Williams says the impact of cuts is evident here in Clare.
