Clare Government TD Warns Coming Months Critical In Roche Deal

A Clare Government TD has warned the Dáil that the next six to nine months are critical if a deal on the future of Roche is to be secured.

Joe Carey has been speaking of the importance of the Clarecastle facility to the local economy ahead of a visit by IDA officials today, a week after the announcement that the company is to leave its facility in the village.

Representatives of the state agency are also meeting with Roche management in Switzerland this week, as the company and the government looks to find a buyer for the facility.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton told the house of other cases where buyers have been found, and says efforts are already underway to achieve the same result for Roche.
