A Clare Government TD says communities in this county are ‘bursting at the seems’ and need further assistance to continue to accommodate Ukrainian refugees.
Around 1,500 people are estimated to be in Clare after fleeing the war-torn state, with more than half of those in Lisdoonvarna alone.

Clare is believed to be accommodating more Ukrainian refugees per capita than any other county in Ireland.
Meelick-based Fianna Fail Deputy Cathal Crowe says small towns like Lisdoonvarna shouldn’t be disproportionately bearing the brunt of the load.
