Staff at the airport, and at Shannon Development, have voted in favour of industrial action as they seek written assurances on their futures, under the government’s plans for Shannon.
The ballots are seen as a blow to the coalition’s proposals for Shannon, but Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen is confident they will not lead to a delay in the separation of Clare’s international airport.
He’s hopeful the situation will be resolved within a week.
