A Clare Government TD is calling for a reform of nurses’ registration fees.

It comes as the INMO wants the Health Minister to recognise the extra work done by nurses and midwives during the pandemic.

Nurses here must pay an annual fee – currently of 145 euro – to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland to retain their registration.

Addressing Health Minister Stephen Donnelly in the Dail, Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey says nurses shouldn’t have to pay a retainer fee every 12 months.
