A Clare Government Senator says unanswered questions remain as to why overcrowding at the region’s main hospital remains so high.
University Hospital Limerick has been consistently the most overcrowded hospital in the country throughout 2022, with trolley numbers reaching 84 yesterday according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The matter was set to be raised at yesterday’s meeting of the Regional Health Forum West though was deferred following the non-attendance of the CEO of the UL Hospitals Group.
Speaking in the Seanad, Ennistymon-based Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway, who’s his party’s Seanad spokesperson on health, says resources are being provided despite the problem appearing to get worse.
