Clare Government Senator Says English Teachers For Ukrainian Refugees Need To Be Increased

A Clare Government Senator is calling for the number of English teachers available to teach Ukrainian refugees to be urgently increased.

Approximately 1000 Ukrainian people are now living in North and West Clare, including around 500 in Lisdoonvarna and a further 200 in Ballyvaughan.

More than 12,000 Ukrainian refugees have come to Ireland since the start of the war.

Speaking in the Seanad, Ennistymon-based Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway says more resources to teach English in the area are needed.
