Clare Government Senator Claims ‘Job Of Work’ Ahead For Restrictions Compliance After Zappone Fallout

Clare’s Fianna Fail Senator claims the Government now has a ‘job of work’ on its hands to reinforce full public compliance with COVID-19 restrictions.

It follows Katherine Zappone’s decision not to take a role of Special Envoy to the UN due to criticism over the way she was appointed, with her hosting of an event for 50 people at the Merrion Hotel in Dublin also adding to the controversy.

The government says the event was allowed under current COVID rules, with the Attorney General saying that 200 people can attend an outdoor gathering by law..
