Clare Government Senator Calls For Climate Committee To Be Reconvened To Address Energy Crisis

A Clare government representative is calling for the Climate committee to be reconvened to address the country’s ‘worsening and precarious’ energy security.

An amber alert was in place for the country’s electricity supply for two consecutive days this week.

The warning came due to a generation shortfall, mainly due to low wind and limited electricity imports.

Mountshannon-based Fianna Fail Senator Timmy Dooley has written to Chair of the Committee on Environment and Climate Action, Brian Leddin, asking that meetings recommence as a matter of urgency.
