Clare Government Senator Accuses Eirgrid Of ‘Poor Planning’ Amid Blackouts Concern

A Clare Government Senator is accusing the State’s electricity grid operator of ‘poor planning’ amid concerns of blackouts this winter.

It’s after the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities proposed higher rates at higher times of demand, such as between 5pm and 7pm.

The CRU claim if power demand isn’t reduced in the coming months, the lights could be switched off at various stages.

 

Mountshannon-based Fianna Fail Senator Timmy Dooley is making fresh calls for Eirgrid to appear before the Oireachtas, claiming they have questions to answer.
