Clare Geologist Discovers 435 Million Year Old Starfish

A starfish fossil which was found by a Clare based geologist has been identified as being 435 million years old.

The discovery was made in the 1980s in Connemara by Dr Eamon Doyle of the Burren Geo Park while researching for his PhD thesis.

It’s significance has now been realised after years of studying and will now on display at the Museum of Natural History in Dublin.
