Clare’s gearing up for more than 70 events that are planned for National Heritage Week.

The focus of this year’s nationwide initiative, which runs from this Saturday until Sunday, August 20th, is on sustainable heritage and biodiversity.

Events at Ennis Friary, Fanore beach, Scattery’s Island, Kiltannon Caves and the 12 o Clock Hills are among the standouts planned in this county.

Clare County Council’s Heritage Officer Congella McGuire says the week is enhancing people’s understanding of their locality.
