Gardai in Clare are warning of a sophisticated phone scam currently targetting people in the region.
Fraudsters pretending to be bank representatives are calling homes in the MidWest on the pretence of investigating unusual activity on the person's account.
They then ask for bank details and other confidential information.
Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Joe Downey is appealing to people not to be fooled.
