Clare Gardaí are warning of scams where deposits are requested up front in order to secure a loan.
Known as Advanced Fee Fraud, a number of websites offering un-secured loans are targetting vulnerable people or those who have difficulty obtaining a loan from established financial institutions.

Applicants are asked to pay a fee before the loan amount is issued and then never receive the money.
