Clare Gardaí Urge Motorists To Take Extreme Care On County’s Roads This Bank Holiday Weekend

Clare Gardaí are urging motorists to take extreme care on the county’s roads over the Bank Holiday weekend.

It comes as provisional road traffic colission figures show there has been an 8% increase in road deaths to date so far in 2023.

Figures from the Road Safety Authority show that the May Bank Holiday is traditionally a period of high risk on Irish roads, with a total of 7 people killed and 83 people seriously injured over the weekend in the last 5 years.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Tríona Brooks has been telling Clare FM’s Daragh Dolan that roads policing units will be out in force over the coming days.
