Clare Gardaí are urging motorists not to take any risks behind the wheel this bank holiday weekend.
A road safety operation remains in place until 7am on Tuesday morning with Gardaí appealing to motorists to slow down and give driving their full attention for the remainder of the weekend.

138 road deaths have been recorded nationwide this year, up one from the same time last year, with two of those fatalities occurring in Clare.
Superintendent with the Clare-Tipperary Garda Division, Eddie Golden, says an increased Garda presence will be seen to catch those driving under influence of drugs or alcohol.
