Clare Gardaí are urging motorists to drive with extreme caution this morning.
It comes as overnight rain and freezing temperatures has led to a large build up of black ice on the county’s road network.
Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene of a collision on the Ennis side of the main Ennistymon road just past the turn off for Clouna Church after a vehicle left the road.
Another vehicle left the road near the Inagh Central Waste Management Facility just before 7:45am, emergency services did attend the scene, however they were later stood down.
Gardaí are advising drivers here to take care on the road today, to reduce speed and to avoid unnecessary journeys.
A number of cars have since been reported to have spun on the R476 between lemenqgh Castle and Kilnaboy, at Roughan Hill and elsewhere on the N85 Ennis to Ennistymon Road.
