Clare Gardai issue Bank Holiday warning

Clare Gardaí are warning motorists that they will likely meet officers if out driving this bank holiday weekend.

This long weekend is expected to be one of the busiest of the year on our roads, and Gardaí have put plans in place to carry out both obvious and covert checkpoints throughout Clare.

They say they're particularly on the lookout for drink- and drug-driving, as well as speeding and using mobile phones while behind the wheel.

Sergeant Darragh Molloy of the Clare Garda Traffic Division says checkpoints will be in place in several areas.
