Clare Gardaí Confident Mandatory Drug Testing Will Significantly Reduce Road Deaths

The head of the Garda Roads Policing Unit in Clare insists that mandatory roadside drug testing will play a significant role in reducing local road traffic collisions.

The Department of Transport is aiming to introduce the measure in the latest move to improve road safety.

So far this year, 102 motorists in this county have been convicted of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
