Clare Gardaí are appealing for motorists to “park smart” when visiting coastal or scenic locations in this county.
While thefts from cars are down 22% since last year, the staycation season will likely provide greater opportunity for criminals to take advantage of unattended vehicles.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Tríona Brooks is warning that the summer months see an increase in vehicle break-ins at locations associated with outdoor activities such as hill walking, hiking and at beaches.
Sergeant Brooks is asking people to plan their journeys before visiting.
