Clare’s GRA representative is hopeful the Garda commissioner is beginning to see the light on major issues affecting the force.

It comes as rank and file Gardaí have decided to suspend industrial action following the agreement of an interim roster with senior management this week.

The proposed schedule will see four units of frontline personnel working 12-hour shifts on a four days on, four days off basis, while some specialist members such as detectives and Traffic Corp will revert to the pre-covid system.

Clare Garda Paul Crowley says while the move is positive, further progress is needed to restore confidence.
