There were just shy of 300 Gardaí operating across Clare last year, with 298 members of the force stationed here in total last December.

It marks a modest 3.5% increase on 2024, however the number of Gardaí stationed in the county town has declined from 114 to 110.

The bulk of the increase has been seen in Shannon , where the Garda complement rose from 58 to 71, while Crusheen’s contingent grew from 10 to 13.

Kilrush station, meanwhile, saw its Garda numbers fall marginally from 39 to 38.

On the roads policing front, 56 new officers were appointed to the Roads Policing Unit nationally last year, with just one new member stationed in Clare.
