A Clare Garda has been involved in the heroic rescue of a young child in Limerick City.

The child was spotted hanging out of the window on the second floor of the Mount Kennett apartment block on the Dock Road yesterday morning.
Two passing Gardai came to rescue, using a ladder borrowed from a nearby van driver to climb to the youngster's aid.
One of those officers was Garda Ger Summerly, who is originally from Ennis.
