Clare local representatives are welcoming the announcement by local Gardaí that they are stepping up their efforts to police drugs problems here.
Four more officers are being appointed to the county drugs unit, bringing its total number to eight.

Earlier this week, Clare FM revealed that the local drugs unit had fallen to one of the smallest in the country, but this move will see it double in size, including a Detective-Sergeant who will be appointed in the coming weeks.
Kilmurry Fianna Fáil Councillor Alan O’Callaghan hopes the move will make life more difficult for criminals involved in the drugs trade.
