Clare’s Chief Superintendent says checkpoints on the border of neighbouring counties will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
It follows a relaxing of the 5 kilometre rule, with people here now permitted to travel within Clare or 20 kilometres from their home.

A meeting of this county’s Joint Policing Committee was told this week that multiple checkpoints during severe restrictions had ‘stretched’ Garda resources here.
Chief Superintendent of the Clare Garda Division, Sean Colleran, says the location of checkpoints here will continue to change over the next number of weeks.
