The chairman of the Clare County Board says he believes the GAA has made a mistake by awarding exclusive rights for some Championship matches to SKY Sports.

Over the next three years, the subscription channel will broadcast over forty hurling and football matches on an exclusive basis in Ireland, beginning this summer.

Croke Park says the controversial deal will make games more widely available to Irish people abroad, but at home there has been criticism that some will miss out.

Expressing a personal opinion, county board chairman Michael McDonagh has said he feels this is a mistake, and he says that is the general view of the GAA community.
