A Clare forestry farmer says morale in the sector is at an all time low amid the ongoing backlog in issuing licenses.
In September 2021, there were approximately 4,700 licenses in the system for more than 120 days, but this figure is now down to 1,700.

However, there are still 885 licenses that have been in the system for over 13 months.
Forester in Darragh, Brian Meaney, says that farmers are experiencing ‘absolute frustration’ with the profession as a result.
