Clare FM Scoops Prize At National Media Literacy Awards

Clare FM has received further national recognition, this time at the Media Literacy Awards held yesterday at Virgin Media Studios in Dublin.

The station was honoured with a certificate for its acclaimed series True Colours, produced by Clare FM’s Programme Director and Head of Operations, Padraic Flaherty.

True Colours is a ten-part documentary series that shines a light on the real-life experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals living across County Clare. It offered listeners an authentic insight into the diversity of lives and voices that make up the county today.
The series placed a strong emphasis on education and awareness.
In their remarks, the judges praised the series, stating: “This episodic series embodies inclusivity, with different ages, gender identities, ethnic backgrounds, and social experiences all represented.”
The recognition at the Media Literacy Awards marks another milestone in what has been an exceptional week for Clare FM.
Just days ago, the station was named Local Station of the Year at the IMRO Radio Awards, the highest honour in Irish radio broadcasting.
