Clare FM has been nominated for a prestigious International award.
It’s documentary “Riptide” has earned the award-winning station a nomination at the New York Radio Festival awards.
Produced by Programme Director Padraic Flaherty, the documentary revisits a dramatic incident at Doughmore Beach in West Clare, where two young children were caught in a riptide.
Local heroes Ian Bolger and Darren Byrnes acted quickly and courageously, jumping into the sea to save the boys.
The New York Radio awards, often seen as the World Cup of radio awards, will see Clare FM competing against some of the world’s largest broadcasters.
The winners will be announced at the Storytellers Gala in New York on May 22nd.
