Clare FM has been honoured as one of the top radio stations in Ireland in the industry’s most prestigious awards ceremony.
Clare’s number one station beat off competition from across the island of Ireland to win the Silver Award in the Local Station of the Year category at the 2020 IMRO Radio Awards.
The award winners were announced in a virtual ceremony held on Friday night.
The event was addressed by President Michael D. Higgins, who thanked radio stations for their service to society during the COVID-19 pandemic, and stated that “people across Ireland turned to radio as a trusted source of information, analysis and companionship” over recent months.
Clare FM Programme Director Padraic Flaherty says it’s a special achievement for the station.
