Clare’s County Fire Service is warning people that fireworks are explosive devices that have the potential to cause life-changing injuries.
As Halloween fast approaches, the local authority is highlighting the dangers associated with fireworks and bonfires, as well as the strain put on the fire services and the environmental impact of such illegal activities.
Illegal fireworks may be manufactured without safety standards and can cause serious damage to users, particularly children, and every year, throughout the country, many children are tragically injured and often scarred for life, after using them.
Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer at Clare County Council, Gearoid Blake is encouraging parents to be proactive about ensuring their children don’t come into contact with illegal fireworks.
