Clare Fire Service Issues Carbon Monoxide Warning

Clare County Fire and Rescue Service is urging householders to be aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide build-up in the home.

Its follows an incident last week where elevated levels of carbon monoxide were discovered in the family home.

One woman, Joan, told Clare FM's Morning Focus that a fire was discovered in the wall cavity of the house and she expressed her fear that her family would have lost their lives if it hadn't been for their carbon monoxide alarm going off.

Chief Fire Officer Adrian Kelly says the incident is evidence that these alarms can alert people to serious and often hidden issues.
