Clare’s Fire and Rescue service is urging households and business owners across the county to dispose of their waste with extra caution in the coming weeks.
It comes ahead of the busy Halloween period which is traditionally a time when materials are illegally incinerated to fuel large bonfires.

Allowing someone without a permit to remove waste is an offence under the Waste Management Act of 1996 and can incur a fine of up to €5,000.
